About Mel
Hi! My name is Mel. I'm an artist and writer from the Philippines, and this is my casual public blog where I talk about my daily life and things that go through my mind.
I'm into art, writing, video games, music, anime, manga, cartoons, comics... all sorts of things! I've always been focused on self-improvement.
About This Blog
I've been blogging ever since I was probably 11 years old. I've tried several different blogging platforms. I've become so critical and conscious of my own work that I've been quiet on the blogosphere for the past few years. I do miss talking about my day, so now I'm back. :)
This blog was started with the intent to write at least one journal entry everyday without worrying about the quality. Of course, I won't blog without at least a bit of editing since I want it to be of some value. The thing is, I have anxiety issues which keeps me from publishing any of my work. Sometimes I can't stop editing a post. Sometimes I just can't stand what I've made and don't bother trying to edit it at all! While you might catch me editing a post a couple of times after I've published it, I'll try my best not to become too obsessive-compulsive about it. Thus, this is a personal place for me to practice blog writing. If I do it every day, chances are I'll improve slowly but surely. :) This is also where I can post (almost) whatever I want, and just... stop worrying about things and be myself.
I hope you guys enjoy my posts, and I hope at least some of them provide you with some entertainment or value. :) I'd love to connect and get to know new people too.
P.S. The name is temporary for now... other names I'm thinking about include "Mel's Pad" and other bad puns. :P Any suggestions?
Mel, Elsewhere
If you're looking for a slightly more serious online journal about self-improvement, check out my other blog, Kasiyahan.
I have an art blog on tumblr where I show off works in progress, doodles, sketches, finished work, and ocassionally, my work process.
I'm currently taking up a "draw everyday" art challenge with my friend, Mika G., called Doodle a Day.
